The 8th or brachial chakra (added by world-renowned animal healer Margrit Coates) is the main chakra for any animal.
It is located in the shoulder area, manages the brachial plexus, the nerves of the head, neck and chest.
Its color is black, because it incorporates all the vibrations of the system.

Animals, in common with all other living things, have a chakra system. This system is a complex network of spinning, energy vortices that run throughout the body. Universal Energy (Prana, Chi, Ki) flows in and out of the chakras, along the meridian system, into the aura and finally into the physical body. Energy flows in two ways; in and out. Therefore, every thought, action and emotion affects the chakras and is reflected in the aura. Likewise, external stimuli, both positive and negative, have an effect on the chakras and leave their mark in the aura (including physical discomfort). This is the same for animals and humans.

Whatever, or influence, causes a blockage or interruption of the energy flow of one or more chakras can lead to the onset of discomfort. The discomfort is first felt on the subtle planes, then on the physical plane. Even an animal, which has suffered trauma on the emotional, physical or mental plane, may not be able to repair its energy imbalance on its own, thus leaving room for discomfort.
